Shared Access, owner and operator of shared wireless infrastructure and Thomond Park, the world class stadium venue, located in Limerick, Ireland, announce the extension of an agreement to provide mobile phone connectivity in and around the multi-purpose venue.
Delivery of a superlative experience for fans, concert goers and staff is a priority for Thomond Park. Mobile connectivity is a critical factor in their plans to implement and deploy new technology solutions designed to improve the fan experience and increase revenues.
Continuing to invest in state of the art mobile communications technology and so being able to guarantee coverage from all three mobile operators is an imperative, as they strive to be one of the best sporting venues in Europe.
Shared Access and Thomond Park have worked together since 2008, when Shared Access entered the Irish market to provide world class connectivity at the stadium. That year Shared Access also started working with the Office of Public Works to deploy a TETRA network across Ireland. Since then they have been designing, funding and building hundreds of masts across Ireland with other partners including the Football Association of Ireland and Irish Rugby Football Union. Shared Access have also worked with other major venues to improve mobile connectivity, including the Aviva Stadium and Dundrum Shopping Centre.
Thomond Park is home of the current United Rugby Champions, Munster Rugby. In addition to hosting over 25,000 fans every match day, the venue offers stadium tours, museum visits and opportunities to visit areas that are usually only available to players. Thomond Park also hosts conferences, events, and exhibitions, all of which require first class mobile connectivity to ensure a truly great experience.
John Cantwell, Stadium Director, Thomond Park: “Thomond Park Stadium is delighted to extend its partnership with Shared Access. The delivery of consistent, robust, and quality connectivity performance is essential for our fan experience and Shared Access has proven to be a top-class provider in this area. We are looking forward to raising the bar even further through our continued partnership.”
Sam Jackman, Chief Development Officer, Shared Access: “Shared Access have been working closely with Thomond Park to ensure that connectivity at the venue is top class for 15 years. The team at Thomond leads the way in focusing on the supporters and making sure that the fan experience is second to none. We are delighted to be continuing this partnership.”
