Shared Radio Access Networks (RAN)

The concept of shared RAN is relatively new and is one of four pillars within the Shared Access offering. It is a natural progression from the core activities that Shared Access has successfully offered to date. As a well financed, highly skilled and vastly experienced company, Shared Access has the resources and talent to make Shared RAN a commercial reality.

Shared RAN has been used to some extent by some operators in a small number of markets. However, no one is delivering shared RAN in the innovative and cost effective way that Shared Access promotes, whereby a professional third party company delivers it.

There are many benefits to sharing RANs, most notably operators can reduce their CapEx, shorten the network deployment period, and significantly reduce their operation costs.
